SMM12 March 20: today's mainstream transaction price of vanadium is 12.4-128000 yuan / ton in cash, down 1250 yuan / ton compared with last Friday; the mainstream transaction price of ferrovanadium is 12.6-128000 yuan / ton in cash, down 2000 yuan / ton compared with last Friday; and the mainstream transaction price of vanadium-nitrogen alloy is 18.3-187000 yuan / ton, down 4000 yuan / ton compared with last Friday.

According to SMM, the price quoted by large domestic manufacturers of vanadium-nitrogen alloy is 196000 yuan / ton, which is 1000 yuan / ton higher than the last time, but this price adjustment still has little effect on the market and does not prevent the price of vanadium-nitrogen alloy from falling. Recently, the recruitment of vanadium alloy steel is weakening, and the reduction of demand makes the purchase demand of vanadium alloy for high-priced sheet vanadium weakens, and the price of sheet vanadium begins to fall after the quotation of large factories. With the decline of sheet vanadium prices, the cost support of ferrovanadium and vanadium-nitrogen alloys is weakened, and the downstream demand is weak, so the prices of ferrovanadium and vanadium-nitrogen alloys fall.

SMM believes that after this round of price decline, there may be a new round of positive prices for vanadium, but due to shipments by some manufacturers at the end of the month, the price of vanadium may fall slightly in the near future; vanadium iron due to the existence of demand problems, the price will fall to a certain extent; vanadium nitrogen alloy prices and sheet vanadium prices are relatively close, will follow the drop of vanadium in the near future, but the decline is limited.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
